Joint-Stock Company BAO has successfully implemented project No. 2.2.2.1/1/24/A/006 “Establishment of waste processing facilities”.
Until now, construction waste – concrete pieces, tiles and structures – often ended up in landfills. Now, thanks to the new technology of JSC BAO and the support of the European Union, construction waste is becoming a valuable resource within the framework of a circular economy.
A stationary construction waste processing and sorting facility, unique in the Baltics, has been installed in Jaunmārupe. The investment worth more than a million euros is a significant step in the development of Latvia’s circular economy. The technology of the German manufacturer Prall-Tec GmbH with innovative rotating hammers and a moving wall ensures the extraction of high-quality secondary raw materials.
Why is this important?
- Recycling is carried out in an environmentally friendly way: Unlike mobile equipment, the stationary complex works with electric motors, significantly reducing CO2 emissions, noise and dust.
- Support for science: Recycled materials serve as raw materials even for innovations such as 3D concrete printing developed by RTU researchers.
- Circular economy: BAO promotes the reuse of resources.
Who is the service for?
The new service is available to both companies that want to optimize costs and comply with sustainability standards, and individuals who carry out repairs and want to dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly way.
What do we accept?
We accept a wide range of building materials: concrete blocks, bricks, tiles, drywall scraps, wood waste, glass, and even plumbing.
Svarīgi:
Hazardous materials (such as asbestos or paint) should be separated from regular construction debris.
How to hand off?
Apply for removal at www.bao.lv or deliver construction debris to the JSC BAO construction waste sorting and recycling complex in Jaunmārupe (23rd km of the Jurmala bypass) – conveniently accessible.
The purchase of the waste processing facility has been co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the National Development Plan.
